Valentine's Day can be a sad day. It was for us this year. It was the day that we had to put down our cat Stripo, just one week shy of her 12th birthday. She was born on February 21, 2001, right in the middle of our livingroom, the "daughter" of our other cat, Tabby. Matthew named her Stripo (pronounced "Stripe-O"- maybe we should have spelled it that way!) because of the stripey appearance of her fur. She had recently developed diabetes and began to fail fast over the past few weeks. As hard as it was to have to say goodbye to her, we didn't want her to suffer.
I wanted to do a scrapbook page as a tribute to Stripo and used this week's CSI challenge as inspiration to help me put the page together. The colour palette of red, pink and grey was perfect.
I've listed 14 things about Stripo in the journaling that is visible. The shipping tag to the left is hidden journaling which documents our Valentine's Day - the last day we had Stripo as a pet.
This is the sketch I used from Creative Scrappers:
Stripo was a lovely and funny cat. We have lots of good memories of her as the boys were growing up but we miss her a lot.
Until next time...
